A journey through the magical and presently war-locked Apaporis River in the Northwest Amazon that seeks to create awareness and demand respect for our eco and ethnosphere. This documentary highlights the magical beauty of the Apaporis and Jirijirimo landscape and the ancestral knowledge of the indigenous communities about medicinal and psychotropic plants. Tracing the journey taken by Richard Evans Schultes, father of ethnobotany, in the 1940s, APAPAPORIS: IN SEARCH OF ONE RIVER is a present-day adventure filled with danger and wonder. This documentary also explores how the Amazon Jungle has of late become the scenario for external dynamics like drugtrafficking, drug erradication initiatives and political kidnappings. It explores the FARC guerrilla siege of Mitu, gate to the Northwest Amazon, and recent events like the liberation of 14 prisoners held by the FARC including three American contractors and kidnapped presidential candidate , French-Colombian citizen Ingrid Betancourt, who were kept captive in this zone.

This project is directed by award-winning feature and documentary maker Antonio Dorado Z. (The King, Estanislao Zuleta: Biography of a Thinker) and is advised by Wade Davis (One River, The Serpent and the Rainbow),PHd, presently explorer-in-residence at National Geographic.
